Derbyshire County Council

We were delighted, for the second year, to be selected to produce the design and artwork for Derbyshire County Council’s 2018 Travel Smart Campaign. Our team worked on the project last year, and were looking forward to developing the concept for this year’s suite of collateral. The campaign, which takes place each May and October, aims to encourage children to try alternative, eco-friendly methods of getting to-and-from school. The leaflet–complete with quirky characters and calligrams–promotes cycling, scooting, skipping and bouncing to school.

As part of the countrywide scheme to encourage schools to increase levels of active travel, Derby County Council asked us to design some quirky superhero characters to promote their ‘Travel Smart Heroes’ campaign.

Derbyshire County Council asked Square One to help produce their Public Health brochure. Using infographics and icons, we designed the brochure to be more visually appealing and engaging to the general public.

Square One was asked to support Derbyshire County Council with their bid to encourage people to recycle their household electricals. We produced this banner along with a series of posters and adverts that appeared in the local press to promote the campaign.

We have been working alongside Derbyshire County Council to build a brand for the Fostering Team. These posters were designed to engage possible fosterers and to highlight the fact that you only need a spare room in your home to apply.

Ride Smart is a leisure motorcycle magazine published by Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership. It aims to help everyone who rides in the Derbyshire Countryside to become a better biker.
